Paris Liberation: city remembers "forgotten" Spanish combatants On the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Paris, the City celebrates foreign fighters and in particular the Spaniards of the "Nueve", the first to enter the occupied capital on 24 August 1944 and who were, mistakenly, taken for Americans.
