Experts work on restorations at Cairo's Mohamed Ali Pasha Palace After being built more than 210 years ago, experts try to restore the Shubra Palace in the Egyptian capital Cairo. Mohamed Ali Pasha, one of the most prominent rulers of Egypt, built himself a retreat palace or an official residence away from the Citadel in Shubra al-kheyma district in 1808. The cost of the conservation effort for Mohamed Ali's palace is around 195 million Egyptian pounds (10 million Euros). The restored palace will re-open in 2020. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
