Description
Boeing CEO on 737 MAX changes, aerospace role in US-China trade relations Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg explains how the company is addressing technical problems with the 737 MAX aircraft that led to two deadly crashes that together claimed 346 lives. In addition to updating the MCAS software and test-flying it, Boeing has set up a fund providing "$50 million in immediate financial assistance as part of a $100 million package" to the families of victims, Muilenburg says. He adds that "there's a strong reason" for a healthy US-China trade relationship, given that aerospace has a trade surplus of "about $90 billion a year." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
