Crisis in Nicaragua: AFPTV freelancer wins prestigious Rory Peck Award AFPTV freelancer Luis Sequeira on Thursday won the prestigious Rory Peck Award for News for his coverage of the 2018 crisis in Nicaragua, his home country. The Central American nation plunged into crisis in April 2018 after widespread opposition protests broke out, and a brutal crackdown over the next four months by president Daniel Ortega's troops left 325 dead, 800 in prison and thousands in exile.
