Brazil to stick to Paris climate change agreement Brazil will remain in the Paris Climate Agreement, Brazilian Minister of the Environment Ricardo Salles affirms to AFP. He is visiting Paris as his government faces an international backlash over the acceleration of deforestation in the Amazon. For Salles, this acceleration is mainly due to illegal deforestation which, he says, Brazil must combat by promoting "sustainable economic development", involving the indigenous peoples and Amazonian population.
