Malian teacher walks 500 km to draw attention to dilapidated school In Mali, a thirty-year-old German language teacher has completed a 500 km walk to draw government attention to the rundown state of the school in his village. His 12-day journey saw him walk from the Kayes region close to the Senegalese border, where he spent his summer, to the capital Bamako, where he met the country's education minister.
