Denmark: visit of the offshore wind park of Middelgrunden A few kilometres off Copenhagen, Middelgrunden was with its twenty turbines the largest wind farm in the world when it opened in 2010. Owned by the energy supplier Hofor and a cooperative of private individuals, its wind turbines are now a landmark of Copenhagen and produce 90 million kWh per year - which covers the energy needs of 30,000 households in the Danish capital.
