Description
Grief and thirst for justice: life after the massacre of Mormons in Mexico In the quiet community of La Mora, a 50-year-old Mormon settlement in the municipality of Bavispe, in northern Mexico, the Millers, Langfords and Johnsons are slowly grieving. The unexplained massacre of three women and six children last November disrupted the peaceful routine of these three families. More than 200 residents left La Mora for good, fearing that another violent episode could shatter their lives. Those who stayed demand justice and put their trust in the government’s investigation and increased security in the region. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador visited the community on January 12 to give families an update and reaffirm his support. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
