End of Paris trial for "ghosts" of jihad Images from outside the court as a trial for the "ghosts" of jihad draws to a close in Paris. In all 24 people went on trial - most in absentia - after leaving to fight in Iraq or Syria between 2014-2015. The defendants include 19 alleged jihadists, who are believed to have been killed in combat but are officially still wanted. Many of them died in suicide attacks or bombings for the Islamic State group. Only five of them were in the dock, on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit terrorist acts. IMAGES
