Moderate CFDT union says the "pivot pension age" of 64 must go France's moderate CFDT union is calling for the "withdrawal of the pivotal age" of 64 from the pension reform project by "Friday" after resuming talks with the government. The government's insistence that people work longer in order to keep the pension system afloat is proving a key sticking point in negotiations. "It would be good form to have an announcement that the pivotal age is being removed from the current bill, otherwise the CFDT will not be part of this discussion in the long term," CFDT leader Laurent Berger insisted after leaving the labour ministry.
