Qatar inaugurates new World Cup stadium park Qatar inaugurates a new park surrounding the future World Cup stadium Al-Bayt on National Sport Day, a national holiday created by the current Emir. Al-Bayt stadium has a capacity of 60.000 people and will host games through to the semi-finals of the World Cup 2022. Its design is inspired by the tents used by nomadic people in the Gulf region and is currently being tested and will be inaugurated later this year. IMAGES
