The attack occurred at two bars in Hanau, about 20 kilometres (12 miles) from Frankfurt. After the first deadly shooting at a shisha bar around 10pm local time which left five dead, the gunman then allegedly committed a second shooting at the Arena Bar & Cafe where three people were killed outside the building, according to local media.
