DEWEY was chosen to be the Republican standard bearer for the second time. The Democrats chose Harry S. TRUMAN. From the day of Mr. TRUMAN'S nomination; the experts were saying he didn't have a chance of beating Mr. Dewey. However; President TRUMAN had different ideas. After a long and hard fight campaign he fooled the experts and was returned to office.
