Description
This film uses the Berlin Wall as a focal point to trace the rise of communism in Russia; Eastern Europe; China; and Cuba. Footage from newsreels and Russian silent classics (most notably Sergei Eisenstein's October); builds a historical case against communism. The film; narrated by James Cagney and written by Don Mankiewicz; was nominated in 1962 for an Academy Award for Best Documentary - Short Subject.
