Description
After Slovakia's declaration of independence, president of the Czecho-Slovak Republic Emil Hácha was called to Berlin on 14 March 1939 to negotiate with Adolf Hitler and was put under such massive pressure ("háchaised", as Hitler later called such treatment) by Hitler and Hermann Göring, including the threat of bombing Czech cities, that he agreed to the occupation of his country by German troops after an attack of weakness in the early morning of 15 March. The footage shows Hacha arriving in Berlin and walking down the line of honour.
