Description
The water level of the Furnas Dam hydroelectric reservoir is falling due to the drought in Brazil, which in turn drives electricity prices up for residents who resort to cutting down their power usage. The shoreline of this reservoir built in Rio Grande, one of the country's main hydroelectric plants, has retreated by almost 200 metres. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
