Saad Hariri, who was renamed Lebanon's premier in October of last year, is a businessman who was propelled into politics by his billionaire father's car bomb assassination in February 2005. Hariri stepped down from forming a government as a long-running political and economic crisis intensified following a devastating port blast in Beirut in August that killed more than 200 people and forced the previous government to resign.
