Hundreds of people queue to buy supplies in Durban, where only a handful of retailers remain open after recent unrest in two provinces which has left at least 117 people dead. Protests broke out a day after the arrest of ex-president Jacob Zuma. The protests quickly turned into looting as crowds pillaged shops and storehouses, stoking fears of shortages and inflicting a devastating blow to the economy. IMAGES
