The Wimbledon tennis championships are the first British sporting event to welcome full-capacity crowds since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, with around 15,000 spectators attending matches on Centre Court from the quarter-finals onwards. Wimbledon is part of the government's Events Research Programme, with Covid transmission closely monitored to check the effect of full attendance.
