"I just got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and I feel privileged to be 16 years old and get vaccinated in a Latin American country," says Eva, a resident of Panama's Taboga Island, where 90% of residents have now been vaccinated against Covid-19. "It gives us peace of mind because, as a tourist island that we are, we do not want anything to happen to our residents that we love," adds local mayor Magaly Ricord, as residents across the island queue for their jabs on a mass vaccination day.
