Description
A new Nevada law that targets grass at office parks, street medians and housing development entrances will ban about 40% of the grass in the Las Vegas area to conserve water. "The only people who step on that grass are the people who mow it," says Corey Enus, Public Information Coordinator for Southern Nevada Water Authority. The law mandates the removal of purely decorative grass by the end of 2026 and excludes single-family homes, parks and golf courses. Some residents have taken advantage of the rebates offered to landowners to replace grass in residential areas. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
