Croatia celebrates the connection of the southern region of Dubrovnik to the rest of its territory by a bridge built by Chinese consortium China Road and Bridge Corporation which integrated the last metal segment.
The cost of the 2.4-kilometre (1.5-mile) long bridge and the related infrastructure amounts to 420 million euros ($499 million). The project is financed with up to 85 percent by the European Union. The bridge should open for traffic by spring 2022. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
