Description
Tomomichi Yoshimura had two tickets for the football at the Tokyo Olympics, and he would have been a volunteer to help spectators at the International Stadium Yokohama, but as Japanese government decides to host most of the games without spectator, Yoshimura has been watching Olympics on TV with his friend Yuichiro Yokono almost everyday at home.
This Friday, they prepare drinks and order pizza delivery to watch their favourite sport judo as Japanese female athlete Akira Sone wins the gold medal while men’s +100kg judoka Hisayoshi Harasawa is defeated by French star Teddy Riner.
The two year-three university students will face final exam during the second week of Olympics, but Yoshimura says exam revision is followed after the end of a day’s competition, and Yokono says if there was no pandemic, he would wait for athletes outside the Olympic village to collect autographs.
