Firing is heard in Guzara district, south of Herat city, as Afghan security forces clash with Taliban fighters on the outskirts of the provincial capital. The militants have seized scores of districts across Afghanistan, including in Herat province, in recent weeks as US-led foreign forces began a final withdrawal that is now almost complete.
