The mayor of El Prat, the area where Barcelona's airport is based, and Marita Gomis Bertrand, a descendant of the family who have preserved the area's natural surroundings for more than a century, warn against the recently-agreed expansion of Barcelona-El Prat airport. They say it would wipe out a significant section of wetlands in the Llobregat river delta, an area very rich in biodiversity. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
