Description
An Indigenous ceremony is held to mark one month since the installation of Chile's Constituent Convention, which has the task of drafting a constitution to replace the one written during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. The majority of the 155-member body participate in the Pawa ceremony, customary among the peoples of the north of the country - mainly Aymara, Quechua, Diaguita and Colla - to thank Pachamama or Mother Earth for the return of the Sun as the southern winter ends.
