Afghan female medical staff in a Kabul hospital say they have been going to work since the Taliban took over the country. A nurse at the hospital, Noori said they returned to their jobs after the Taliban took control of Kabul, when asked by management to do so. "Without any fear or apprehension, we came back and resumed our work," she said. Many Afghans are terrified of a repeat of the Taliban's initial rule from 1996 to 2001, which was infamous for their treatment of girls and women, as well as a brutal justice system.
