Description
Samoa's newly installed Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata'afa says in an interview with AFP that climate change poses a "dire" threat to Pacific nations, and calls for urgent action at upcoming UN talks in Glasgow.
Mata'afa, who took office as Samoa's first female prime minister in late July, says the country's coastline has been feeling the impact of the rising sea level, while other smaller nations are being been swamped. She also describes Australia's climate stance as a "frustrating element" in the Pacific region's collective efforts against the threat of climate change. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
