Description
The leaders of Germany's Social Democratic Party (SPD) say they want to become "the strongest force in Parliament" a week before the German national elections, but admit they still have to "convince" voters that Olaf Scholz would be a good chancellor for the country. The right-wing Christian Democratic Union (CDU), allied with the Bavarian CSU, has around 20-22% of voting intentions in the polls, against 25-26% for the SPD. The Greens are credited with 15 to 17%.
