September 5, 1965 Original script A number of friends and relatives gathered yesterday at the Golden Hill Rest Home to help celebrate the birthday of a lady who was born during the Civil War in 1861. The honored lady was Mrs. Maggie McKelvey, a native of Tennessee who moved to California with her family in 1890. Some of her relatives live in Escondido and Leucadia areas, and dropped off a cake, flowers, and birthday cards. Undoubtedly they also brought great joy to Mrs. McKelvey, who is partially deaf and blind.
