Widely recognised Klang Pak Kran temple, situated on the Southern part of Ayutthaya about 60 km (40 miles) north of Bangkok, has been flooded by heavy rains caused by tropical storm Dianmu. Many areas of the old royal capital are now submerged by floodwater while authorities rush to put up barriers around the main island to prevent floodwaters from reaching the ancient ruins and temples situated on the plain.
