A representative for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights congratulates the journalists Maria Ressa and Dimitri Muratov for their Nobel Peace Prize, calling it a "a tribute to all of these journalists who are doing an essential job for all of us". She also decries the "all sorts of harassment online and offline" directed towards Maria Ressa for her work, and says that pandemic-related restrictions have been used to prevent journalists "from reporting on other issues".
