Description
Marathon runners return to Hong Kong streets as the delayed elite road race is held in the city again after being cancelled last year. With one of the world's strictest quarantine schemes still in place for inbound travellers to the city, few overseas runners were able to take part in the race, giving locals Wong Kai-lok and Yiu Kit-ching Christy the chance to win the men's and women's marathon respectively. Some 15,000 runners took part in the annual race which was overshadowed by media reports on the organisers' purge on dissent, with runners ordered to change clothing that sported the phrase "Hong Kong Add Oil".
