Stockshots from outside the Copenhagen office of Dan-Bunkering, a Danish bunkering company accused of violating the EU embargo on Syria by delivering large quantities of fuel there. Its trial opens Tuesday morning. According to the prosecutor's office, through its subsidiary in Kaliningrad (Russia), the company sold a total of about 172,000 tonnes of fuel to two Russian companies on 33 occasions between 2015 and 2017. The fuel was then delivered to Syria through intermediaries in violation of EU sanctions. Dan-Bunkering, who believe they have been unfairly charged, expect to be acquitted after the trial in mid-December. The company faces a heavy fine and one of its managers, who is also being prosecuted, faces four years in prison. STOCKSHOTS
