Lawyers enter the court room as Danish fuel supplier Dan Bunkering and its parent company Bunker Holding go on trial in the city of Odense on charges of violating EU sanctions on Syria through exports of jet fuel used by Russian warplanes in the war-torn country. According to prosecutor Anders Dyrvig Rechendorff "the amount of jet fuel that went into Syria has (…) had an impact on the situation"; the prosecution estimates that Dan Bunkering sold about 172,000 tonnes of fuel to two Russian companies between 2015 and 2017, which was then delivered to Syria.
