Description
Mexican artist Frida Kahlo's 1949 self-portrait "Diego y yo," which is currently on view in Beverly Hills, could become the most valuable work from any Latin American artist when it goes on auction on November 16 in New York. Sotheby’s Los Angeles Managing Director Peter Kloman says the painting is estimated at $30 million to $50 million, adding that Kahlo’s self-portraits "are certainly her most provocative, most psychologically powerful works from her career."
