French bishops observe a moment of silence and prayer near the Grotto of Massabielle, in Lourdes, in honour of victims of sexual violence and assault within the Church. The bishops are due to devote part of their annual meeting to the damning findings of an independent commission on widespreard child sexual abuse by the clergy.
