Pope Francis celebrates a mass to remember victims of war and violence to mark the All Souls' Day at a French military cemetery in Rome. Shortly before the open-air mass the Pope pays his respects in front of a dozen graves on which he places a white rose. Located on the heights of the Monte Mario hill, in the north of the Italian capital, this cemetery lined with pine and olive trees houses the graves of some 1,700 soldiers - Christians and Muslims - of the French expeditionary corps who died during the Italian campaign in 1943 and 1944 fighting against German troops.
