Nuclear energy is a part of the solution to global warming, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency says. In an interview with AFP at the COP26 conference in Glasgow Rafael Grossi said nuclear energy is already producing more than 25 percent of the overall clean energy which is produced around the world. Without it "we would never make it", he said. The COP26 conference was one of the first ocassions that the nuclear sector had been given a seat at seat at the clean energy table without "ideological burdens" about nuclear energy that existed before.
