Description
A Singapore court put the execution of a Malaysian man in a drug trafficking case on hold Monday after a last-ditch legal challenge, his lawyer said, following criticism from campaigners who say he is mentally disabled. Nagaenthran K. Dharmalingam's lawyer says he will ask the Court of Appeal to set aside the death sentence and release him to his parents.
Earlier on Monday, activists delivered a letter to President Halimah Yacob urging clemency for Nagaenthran K. Dharmalingam, a Malaysian man scheduled to be executed on Wednesday.
