It had been 2 and a half years since Alison hadn't hugged her son Liam who lives in New York: at JFK airport, the British family finally reunites. The travel ban to the United States has been lifted for vaccinated travellers, allowing many families and loved ones to reunite. "Every day, we've been watching the news and the radio and the newspapers, waiting and waiting for America to open up and then all of a sudden, they did," Alison tells AFP.
