Description
In an interview with AFP, Txai Suruí, a 24 year old law student, asserts that the protection of their territories is "one hundred percent linked to the climate issue" and that indigenous people, who are in the front line of the climate emergency, should be participating in the decision-making process. Txai Suruí belongs to the Amazonian Paiter Suruí tribe and marked the opening of COP26 with an impactful speech for the protection of forests and indigenous people. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
