Description
Tensions over Taiwan will be "front and center" when US President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Joe Biden meet virtually amid increasing discord between the world's two largest economies, says Matthew P. Goodman, who served as an Asian economics adviser at the White House in the Barack Obama and George W. Bush administrations. "I think it’s very important for the two leaders to agree where competition is inevitable, where it needs to be managed, and where they need to try to downplay it," says Goodman, a senior vice president for economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
