Description
Fidel Castro was a Cuban revolutionary, politician and laywer who was the leader of Cuba from 1959 to 2008, serving as Prime Minister and President. He led the Cuban Revolution in the 1950's against the government of Fulgencio Batista. Five years have passed since his death on November 25, 2016, and since then the revolution he started in 1959 appears to be at an impasse, with Cuba's economy battered and an ever-larger part of its population clamoring for change.
