Iraqi volunteers started planting the first of thousands of trees in war-ravaged Mosul, hoping to green the former Islamic State group stronghold. They placed the first 300 acacia, lemon tree and cypress saplings into the ground in a project that aims to plant 5,000 new trees in the northern city, much of which still lies in ruins.
