Description
In the fall of 1621, the pilgrims held a feast and were joined by members of the local Wampanoag tribe, sharing their food with the newcomers: it's the first Thanksgiving, which later gave birth to the famous American holiday. This year, pilgrim descendants celebrated its 400th anniversary, but for Native Americans, who call out the myth surrounding the holiday, it remains a day of mourning. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
