Austria's ruling party names Interior Minister Karl Nehammer as head of the conservative party after a shock resignation from former chancellor Sebastian Kurz the day before. Kurz, who has been fighting graft allegations, said he was quitting politics to spend time with his new-born son. "It is a great honor for me personally that I am endowed with this vote of confidence, that I am now allowed to be the chairman of the People's Party (ÖVP)," says Karl Nehammer during a press conference in Vienna.
