Beijing says Nicaragua's diplomatic switch from Taiwan to China is a result of "political policymaking, not bargaining chips", asserting that no economic ties was attached in the diplomatic allegiance. Foregin ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin added that "no force can" stop the international recognition of Beijing's "one China" principle, after Nicaragua's switch from Taiwan leaves the self-ruling island with just 14 diplomatic allies.
