"Today is a very sad day for us, the mariachada, because the father has just left," says Alfredo Zarate, a Colombian Mariachi in Bogota as famous Mexican singer Vicente Fernandez - also known as Chente - died at the age of 81 after being hospitalised for almost five months after a fall at his ranch.
