France launches a year of events to mark the 400th anniversary of Moliere, the nation's most illustrious and ever popular master of the stage and satire. Like every January 15, a tribute is paid to him at the Comedie-Française: a bust of Molière is solemnly placed on stage, the whole cast salutes him and everyone recites a line from his plays. IMAGES
